My condolences to all of the Green family. I have fond memories of discussions with Mr. Green over the years. Two that come to mind (1) him telling me of going to Liberty Grove and playing basketball with my father (Hollis Fleming) at the one room schoolhouse since that was the nearest place that had an outdoor basketball goal at the time. (2) Since he was a country boy he would take a biscuit and country ham to school for lunch and often would trade it to one of the “city boys” for a bologna sandwich. Rest in Peace.

I’d like to recognize Mr. Green for his WWII service. His hard work in the past, helped to secure our future. I am forever grateful. Mary often told me about his breakfast biscuit making ability. They sounded so delicious! Mary, my heart and prayers are with you, your family, and your friends. Blessings and peace to you all.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Though I never met Mr. Green, Jim would often share glimpses of his Dad. A life well lived. May all find comfort in many treasured memories.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Green. He was a good neighbor to my family while I was growing up in the 1950s and '60s, and I remember him as the head of a family that was seen as a family role model in the community. He will be greatly missed.
