Obituary of Lorene Jenkins Thompson

Lorene Jenkins Thompson, 88, of Killen passed away September 30, 2010 at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of Lone Cedar Church of Christ. Survivors include: Sons: Ed Jenkins of Nashville, Bobby Jenkins, Doyle Jenkins, and Dennis Jenkins, all of Florence Brothers: Lester Behel - Anniston Elvis Behel - Birmingham Grandchildren: Greg and Gary Jenkins; Jerry Eledge; Susanne Ballard, Jeff and Chad Jenkins; Erin Jenkins; and Paige Miller (12) Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by: Husbands: O. B. Jenkins and James Thompson Daughter: Doris Eledge Parents: Andrew and Elsie Behel Brother: Hollis Behel We will never forget the love our Mom showed us. She was the greatest role model a child could have in parenting. She passed on to us the importance of affection and understanding. It is our prayer that when we do meet again that she will be proud of the way we turned out and we know that it will be because of the memories and teachings that she left us with. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-8:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00pm at Lone Cedar Church of Christ with Bro. Tim Grigsby officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00-2:00pm. Burial will be in Tri Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Greg Jenkins, Gary Jenkins, Jerry Eledge, Jeff Jenkins, Chad Jenkins, and Chris Miller. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Eledge and Edward Behel, Jr. The family would like to thank the caregivers, Ann Adams, Mary Ann Melson, and Donya Melson. Greenhill Funeral Home is directing.
