Obituary of Alta Balentine

Alta Elizabeth Allen Balentine, 83, of Lexington, AL, passed away September 27, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Henry Nelson Allen and Emma Odell Springer on May 16, 1927 in Lauderdale County, AL. Alta married May 5, 1946 to Hasel Balentine who preceded her in death June 4, 2003. She was a precious mother of eleven children, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-four great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Survivors include: Sons: Joe (Trish), David (Pat), Rex (Susan), Mike, and Randy (Lori) Daughters: Dean Rogers (Ronnie), Gail Brewer (Doyle), Sandy Allen (Nelson), Connie McGee (Donny), and Pam Balentine. Preceded in death by: Husband: Hasel Balentine Son: Tim Balentine Grandson: Tommy Balentine And above named parents She was a house wife and a member of the Church of Christ. The family would like to say a special thank you to the following: Dr. Auxier and staff, family, neighbors and friends for all their kindness, love and prayers. As mom would always say "THANKS A MILLION" for anything that was done for her. We would like to say "THANK A MILLION MOM" for being such a great mother. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 30, from 6:00-9:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday at 10:00AM at the funeral home with Cory Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Pettus Cemetery in Lexington, AL. Pallbearers will be: Jessie McGee, Mark McGee, Shannon Balentine, Marty Rogers, Derrick Thompson, and Matt Trousdale.
