Mitchell Grady Simpson, 87, of Greenhill, passed away July 20, 2010, at his residence after an extended illness. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired gunite worker, and a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County. Survivors include: Wife: Jessie Simpson Son: Gary Simpson Daughter: Shirley Perryman and husband Junior Sisters: Reba Beavers and Ruby Thigpen Grandsons: Anthony Purser and Andy West Great-grandchildren: Riley and Kaleigh West Numerous nephews and nieces He was preceded in death by: Parents: Oliver and Willie Simpson Brothers: J.C. Simpson and Melvin lee Simpson Granddaughter: Margaret Allison West Visitation will be Friday, July 23, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. in the chapel with Bro. Tim Grigsby and Bro. Charles Kretzer officiating. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews. The family would like to thank special friends Leon Danley, Wade Putman, and Tommy Young. Mr. Simpson was much loved by his family and friends. He did many good things in his life and will be missed by all. He was loved by all little children and his dog Hootie. Greenhill Funeral Home directing.
