Obituary of Olen E. Smith

Olen Eli Smith, Age 87, of Killen, AL, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at his residence of a brief illness. He was a native of Lauderdale County, AL, a self employed contractor, and a member of the Antioch Church of Christ. He was one of eleven siblings. He was a member of the Carpenter Union Local #109. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Antioch Church of Christ with Bro. Larry Harper and Mickey Beavers officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Antioch Church of Christ. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. Survivors are: Daughters: Joy Balch (Dallas) of Killen, AL; Ann Porter (Preston) of Lexington, AL; and Kimberly Puckett (Danny) of Poplar Bluff, MO. Daughter-In-Law: Judy Smith of Killen, AL Sister: Helen S. Peck of El Repose Grandchildren: Rhonda Beavers (Mickey), Lorri Wallace (Craig), Stacey Balch (Melanie), Sonya Murks (Steve), Suzanne Peck (Kerry), Chad Smith, Tiffany Smith, Bradley Puckett (Betsy), and Ginger Wright (Josh). (13) Great Grandchildren and (2) Step Grandchildren Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Jones Smith; a son, Donnie Smith; his parents, William J. Smith and Olie Holden Smith; his brothers, James Smith and Jessie Smith; and his sisters, Florence Michael, Bama Manous, Lucy Thigpen, Nellie Smitherman, Myrtle Wells, Mamie Manous, and Blanch Jones. Pallbearers are : Chad Smith, Stacey Balch, Tanner Puckett, Craig Wallace, Steve Murks, Kerry Peck, Parker Beavers, and Brady Murks. Honorary Pallbearers are the Great Grandchildren.
