Roxa M. Reams, age 89, went home May 8, 2010 at Florence Nursing and Rehab in Florence. She was a member of Grassy Baptist Church. The visitation will be Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with funeral services Friday at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Greenhill Funeral Home . Burial will be at Bonnertown Cemetery with Bro. Jason Davis officiating. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Roxa was born in Swaim, AL in Jackson County to Webb C. and Essie Fowler Hill. She was the oldest of eight. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Howard Hill; two sisters, Thelma Prince and Mary Cook; her husband Claude Reams; two daughters, Virginia Faye and Edna Pearl Sharp; one great granddaughter Ashley Wright; and one great-great grandson C.J. Jones. She is survived by three daughters: Mary Frances Wright(Turner),Opal Jones, and Evelyn Hernandez(Larry); 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Webb C. Hill Jr. (Freda) and Hurshel Hill; two sisters, Shirley Morris and Joyce Hester; and many nieces and nephews. She leaves a void in the life of all that knew and loved her. She loved people and never met a stranger. She helped those in need and was Grandma to all. She had many hobbies and she loved to make things and give them away. If she saw something she liked she could make it or make a pattern for herself. She made beautiful Quilts and everybody wanted one. She loved to fish and taught many of her grandkids . She would sit on the creek bank as long as they were biting. She loved to get in the dirt with her hands with her flowers and garden. She would always say she felt closer to God when she was working. She worked hard all her life. She worked in several Factories in Illinois and retired and moved back to Alabama to raise 4 grandchildren. She has left a void in the life of many , her shoes are too big to fill and will never be forgotten. Our hearts are heavy for our loss by only for a little while. We will be together again. John 3-15 That whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. We love you Mom Her family would like to thank all who took care of her in her last days. The doctors and nurses at Helen Keller, Nurses and CNAs at Florence Rehab and Wiregrass Hospice. She was a 50 year Breast Cancer Survivor.
