Obituary of Hunter Hamner

Hunter Victor Hamner, 81, of Greenhill, passed away January 21, 2010, at his residence. He was a retired operator at Reynolds, a member of Atlas Church of Christ, and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Visitation will be Friday, 1-22-10, from 6:00-9:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be Saturday at 2:00pm at Atlas Church of Christ with Bro. Steve Shelton and Bro. Van VanSandt officiating. Burial will be in Atlas Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from l:00 until service time. Survivors include: Sons: Dwain Hamner and wife Rhonda - Killen; Max Hamner and wife Tammy - Phil Campbell Daughter: Susan Dale and husband Don - Olive Branch, MS Brothers: Howard, Hershel, Horace, Hollie, Troy, George, and John Hamner, all of Florence. Sisters: Elvie Peck , Agnes Clemmons, Erma Estes, all of Killen, and Martha Burrow of Dyersburg, TN Grandchildren: Dana, Dawn, Rachel, Ryan, Nicholas Hamner, Ronald Ethridge. He was preceded in death by: Wife: Gladys Hamner; Son Victor Lance Hamner; Parents: Rob and Mary Hamner; and sister, Edith Nichols. Pallbearers will be nephews. He loved hunting, fishing, and bluegrass music. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gwen Creasy and Charles Hayes. Greenhill Funeral Home is directing.
