Eula Mae Townsend passed peacefully at age 97, Tuesday October 25th 2016, bound for Heaven. She was surrounded by family, hand in hand, singing Christian hymns. She is preceded in death by her parents John D and Linnie Richardson and her husband of 56 years, Willard K Townsend. Surviving is her daughter Nancy (Steve) Lansdell; son David (Atoya) Townsend; and her five grandchildren, Caroline and Jason Lansdell; Phillip (Cynthia), Emily, and Bradley Townsend. She loved God, the Bible, her family, and her country. Mrs. Townsend was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, a wonderful role model and example for her family and all that knew her. She attended congregations in both Florence, Alabama and Nashville, Tennessee. Her family would like to thank Vanderbilt Hospital ER and Medical ICU teams for their love, attention, and care. At Mrs. Townsend's request, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Visitation will be Saturday October 29th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Ken Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Canerday Cemetery. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
