Elsie Odene "Dene" Hester, 87, of Lexington, AL, passed away August 30, 2016 at Hilltop Assistant Living in Florence, AL. Mrs. Hester was a retired Registered Nurse and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hester is survived by brother James Barnett of Lexington; sister Elaine Butler of Claremont, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents John Thomas Barnette and Lena Pearl Thigpen Barnette; brothers Herbert, Arlon, and Carlon Barnett; and sisters Leona Thigpen, Cleavie Simpson, Clayton Thigpen, Virta Barnett, Elora Lewey, Onita Davis, and Leavell Barnett.
There will be a graveside service for Mrs. Hester on Thursday, September 1st, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Lexington, AL. Bro. Jason Vinson and Jim Truitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers.
