Jackie Lee Gist, 56, of Florence, AL, passed away June 26, 2016. Mr. Gist was a maintenance supervisor with 38 years of service for Tarkett of North America. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Gist also loved Alabama Football.
Mr. Gist is survived by:
Brothers: Roger Dale Gist (Gale)
Harold Neal Gist
Kerry Marshall Gist (Kim)
Sister: Donna Gist King (Bobby)
Step-mother: Mary Evelyn Gist
Step-sister: Mary Turner (Johnny)
Step-brother: David Dickerson (Debbie)
He was preceded in death by parents Marshall Ozell Gist and Mary Elizabeth Atwell Gist.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016, from 5-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will be in Emmaline Stutts Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rory Gist, Jared King, Bobby King, Mike Higgins, Scottie Lanier, Bubba Simmons, and Brian Fisher. Honorary pallbearers will be all the people he hunted and worked with.
The family would like to send a special thanks to special friends Mike and Sharon Higgins and family, Scottie Lanier and family, and all the doctors and nurses who cared for our brother during the last year. They would like to especially thank Nurse Holly of The CTRU Unit at ECM Hospital.
