Van C. White, Jr., 83, of Killen, AL, passed away May 22, 2009, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was a life long resident of Lauderdale County and a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Greenhill. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a member International Union of Operating Engineers Local 320, and a life member of Disabled American Veterans, and was retired from the heavy equipment business. Survivors include: Wife: Betty C. White Son: Stephen White and wife Diane Daughter: Connie Thrasher and husband Doug Brothers: Bobby L., Jimmy, Bill, Keith, Carl, Tony, Tommy, Ronnie, and Gary White Sisters: Martha Riddle, Brenda White, Joyce Williams, Kathy Tesseneer, And Doris Holland (4) Grandchildren (3) Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by: Parents: Van C. White Sr. and Beatrice White Brother: Billy G. White Sisters: Virginia Dillon, Helen Quinn, and Louise Tuberville Visitation will be Sunday, May 24, 2009, from 1:00-3:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Greg Shockley and Rev. Gilbert Salinas officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. Pallbearers: Dakin White, Kalin White, Jeff Swinea, Tyler Swinea, Doug Thrasher, and David Swinea. Greenhill Funeral Home is directing.
