Obituary of Hollis Michael

Hollis Edward Michael, age 94 years, 11 months, and 9 days, of Killen, passed away Jan. 9, 2016, at Shoals Hospital after an extended illness. He was retired from Genesco and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: Daughter: Shirley Robertson (Louis) of Killen Sons: Tonnis Michael (Janet) of Rogersville J. W. Michael (Barbara) of Florence Sister: Earline Sarchet of Boyd, Texas Brothers: Henry D. Michael of Florence Avery Michael of Muscle Shoals Bertis Michael of Tuscumbia (16) Grandchildren (35) Great Grandchildren (34) Great Great Grandchildren Preceded in death: Wife: Mary Elizabeth (Hale) Michael ` Parents: George Edward and Sarah Josephine Michael ` Daughter: Sherea White Sons: Hobert Michael Lindon Michael Daughters-in-Law: Diane Michael Jerrie Nell Michael Nancy Michael Son-in-Law: Don White Brothers: Ottis, Buford, Marvin, Alton, Wayne, Melvin, and Douglas Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 11:00-1:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 1:00pm with Wayne Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Terry Robertson, Tony Robertson, Troy Robertson, Toby Robertson, Ricky Michael, Cameron Michael, and Sammy Michael. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make contributions to your favorite charity. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Gentivia Healthcare and to Barbara Brake for their care for Mr. Michael. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
