Obituary of Ronald McGee

Ronald McGee, age 69, passed away on Sunday January 2, 2016, at his home in Ludowici, Georgia surrounded by his surrogate family. He was born October 23, 1946, in Florence, Alabama to Nick and Opal McGee. After a brief stint in the military, he moved to Hinesville, Georgia where he managed Bennett's heating and cooling business for many years. In Georgia he met his adopted daughter and husband, Rhonda and John Gama and formed a life-long relationship with them. Their three children Brooke, Kaitlynn, and John Nicholas would become his beloved grandchildren. Their care for Ronald during his illness will always be greatly appreciated. Ronald is preceded in death by his father Nick McGee. He is survived by his mother Opal McGee, sister Lucy Joyce, children Anthony Tucker and Amber Hammond, six biological grandchildren, one uncle (Bob Flippo), one aunt (Opal Dunn), his adopted family previously mentioned, and a host of family and friends. The visitation will be at the Greenhill Funeral Home Wednesday January 6 at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 12:00. Tim Grigsby of the Lone Cedar Church of Christ will be officiating. Burial will take place at McGee Cemetery County Road 63, Killen, Alabama.
