Born in 1936 to Tommie Lee and Geneva Wright, David lived in Greenhill until 1955. He then joined the United States Navy and served his country for 4 years. Afterwards he returned to Greenhill to start his family and worked at Reynolds Alloys. He later furthered his career path while working at Tennessee Valley Authority for twenty-five plus years and retiring there in upper management of the nuclear engineering division.
David loved his family. He was a devoted Christian. When you think of David, you think of a man who served his ultimate purpose, not only in serving his country, but then being a leader and a voice of reason to two generations of family. He was a "real father" who we could rely on. His passion was playing guitar and writing songs. He was an active member of Nashville Songwriters Association International and Tennessee Songwriters Association, where he was honored and recognized for his accomplishments of the songs he wrote. He dedicated his life to his wife and family, and was an inspirational son who looked after his mother through her long, strong life. We, the family are all heart-broken of our loss, but heaven has gained an amazing soul. Thank you to all of the special people, friends and family who have supported us at this very difficult time.
