Obituary of Doyce Mae Clanton

Doyce Mae Lawson Clanton, 80, of Florence, AL, passed away November 18, 2015 after a brief illness. Mrs. Clanton was a homemaker and member of Iron City Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Clanton is survived by: Husband: Elvin Elzo Clanton Sons: Donnie Clanton (Michele), Timothy Clanton (Shelia), and Randall Clanton (Jeanine) Daughters: Deborah Methvin (Stan), Brenda Whitten (Kenneth), Marilyn Lane (Mike), and Tammie Clanton Brothers: Calvin Lawson, Edward Lewis Lawson, and Jimmy Lawson (21) Grandchildren; (25) Great-grandchildren; and (4) Great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents Deward Cecil Lawson and Myrtle Riley Lawson; brothers Ernest, Cecil, Sonny, and C.W. Lawson; sister Glenda Matthews; (2) infant sons; and grandsons Courtney Whitten & Stanley Powers. Visitation for Mrs. Clanton will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Elbert Ray Bennet and Gene Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Emmaline Stutts (Milner's Chapel) Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Whitten, Rodney Whitten, Mark Collier, Jamie Norwood, Chris Clanton, Nathan Clanton, Javin Clanton, Josh Collier, and Jeremiah Parrish. Honorary pallbearer will be Daniel Clanton. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
