Johnie Dave Balentine, 90, of Lexington, AL, passed away July 10, 2015 after a brief illness. Mr. Balentine was carpenter and farmer and a Methodist. Johnie was a loving husband, daddy, and granddaddy.
Mr. Balentine is survived by sons Billy, Sammie (Cindy), James (Kathy), Ronald, Johnny, and Rayburn Balentine; daughters Shirley Robbins (Randy), Patricia Smith (Jerry), Jane Killen, Diane Johnson (Wendell), Tresa Lawson, and Brenda Call; brother Hollie; sister Opal Aday; (29) grandchildren; (34) great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Jessie and Lillie Burgess Balentine; wife Varnell Marcia Balentine; son Terry; brothers Garrett, Will, Tollie, and Hassell; and sister Nettie Aday.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with Waylon Hill officiating. Burial will be in Pettus Cemetery. His sons will serve as pallbearers.
