Obituary of Dennis Owen

Dennis Wayne Owen, 67, of Florence, AL, passed away February 26, 2015, after an extended illness. Mr. Owen was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Stutts Road Church of Christ. Dennis loved dirt-track racing, golf, fishing, and umpiring Dixie Youth Boys & Girls baseball and softball games. Mr. Owen is survived by wife Patsy Ann Canerday Owen; sons Anthony and Marty Owen (& wife Chasity), both of Florence; sister Virginia Behel (R.L); and grandchildren Laken, Jami, and Kaleigh Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents J.C. and Katie Gray Owen. Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 12-2:30 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 P.M. with Bro. Perry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Canerday Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Scotty Behel, Doyle Behel, Casey Behel, Daryl Behel, Chris Kelly, and Corey Surratt. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Canerday and Harold Thompson. The family would like to send a special thanks to Harold Thompson for being a good friend during this difficult time. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
