Obituary of Jr. Riley

E.L. Riley, Jr., 86, of Florence, AL, passed away February 25, 2015 after an extended illness. Mr. Riley was retired from South Central Bell and was a member of Greenhill First Baptist Church. He was also a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Riley is survived by wife Christine Clemmons Riley; daughter Debra Riley Rutland of Sheffield; grandchildren Rachel (Thomas) Berryhill, Riley (Julie) Rutland, Evan Rutland, and Stephanie Aldridge; great-grandchildren Hayden, Houston, and Harper Berryhill and Cash Rutland; and sister-in-law Betty Riley. He was preceded in death by parents E.L. Riley, Sr. and Nancy Elizabeth Riley; son Chris Riley; son-in-law David Rutland; brothers William Hal Riley and Wayne Louis Riley; sister-in-law Katherine Riley; and in-laws Ernest and Susie Clemmons.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Gregg Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Emmaline Stutts Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Clemmons, Douglas Koonce, Dale Kennedy, Don Green, Ernie Clemmons, Kevin Clemmons, Roy Davis, Jr., and Louis Czerkmak. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church of Greenhill and Mr. Riley's Sunday School Class.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Bro. Gregg Woodard, Judy Bruce, Stephanie Davis, Lajoyce O'Mallory, Judy Smith and the staff and chaplains from Gentiva Hospice, and Kelvin and Gina Brewer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Greenhill or Emmaline Stutts Cemetery.
