Obituary of Pauline Koonce

Pauline L. Koonce, 97, of Greenhill, AL, passed away January 25, 2015 at El Reposo Nursing Facility.
She lived most of her life in Lauderdale County and was one of the original members of the Greenhill Senior Citizens Center and spent many days playing games and enjoying fellowship with friends. Mrs. Koonce was also a lifelong member of Greenhill First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery. Rev. Gregg Woodard and Rev. Dean Timbes will be officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil A. Koonce; her parents Ernest and Susie Clemmons; her brothers Walter and Maurice Clemmons; her sisters Lucille Davis and Deanie Green; grandson Tyler Koonce; son-n-law Ray Hipps; brother-in-laws Bill Davis, H. R. Kennedy, and Jesse Parker; and sister-in-law Geneva Clemmons.
Mrs. Koonce is survived by son Douglas (Kathy) Koonce; daughter Cecilia Hipps; grandchildren Dr. Cassidy Koonce, Anthony (Brenda) Hipps, and Sherry Hipps; sisters Flora Ethel Parker, Christine (E.L.) Riley, and Verta Mae Kennedy; brother-in-law J.T. Green; sister-in-law Francis Cain; and great-grandchildren Austin and Drew Hipps.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Clemmons, Eric Clemmons, Dale Kennedy, Ernie Clemmons, Kevin Clemmons, and Roy Davis.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Gail, Shirley, and Carnelia for being such kind and loving caregivers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenhill First Baptist Church or El Reposo Nursing Facility.
