Obituary of Jean Jones

Alice Jean Jones, better known as "Granny", passed away quietly, with her children by her side, on January 5, 2015. Jean was a constant fixture at her grandchildren's various activities and a rabid Atlanta Braves fan. She was member of Bonnertown Baptist Church and also a member of Al-Anon Florence, AL. She was married to L.C. Jones for 51 years. Mrs. Jones was retired seamstress. Mrs. Jones is survived by sons Douglas Jones (Susan) and Keith Jones (Maureen); daughter Tammy Fisher (Jim); brothers Alton "Toby" Fulks (Fern), Gerald Fulks, Jerry Fulks (Brenda), W.H. Fulks (Margie), J.R. Fulks (Susan), David Fulks, and Troy Fulks (Patti); sisters Evelyn Golden, Margie Ridgeway, Sue Littrell, Kathy Allen, Janna Fulks, and Diane Jones; grandchildren Amy Jones, Melissa Shupe (Craig) , Brittany Jones, Ben Fisher, and Connor Fisher; and great-grandchild Caleb Shupe. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Cleo Fulks; son Chris Jones; brother James Fulks; sister Sandra Lee Fulks; and grandchild Ryan Jones. There will be a graveside service for Mrs. Jones on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Bonnertown Cemetery. Carlos Casteele will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ben Fisher, Conner Fisher, Wendell Fulks, Greg Fulks, Nathan Fulks, Brent Fulks, Craig Shupe, and Jamie Allen. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Amedisys Hospice of Florence and the excellent care provided by Chip, Lee, Brandy, April, Ashley, Melanie, Kim, and Kevin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lexington High School Scholarship Fund in memory of Ashley Fulks. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
