Obituary of Faye McMurtrey

Gloria Faye Beavers McMurtrey, 70, of Killen, AL, passed away December 12, 2014 after an extended illness. Mrs. McMurtrey was a retired CNA and a member of Atlas Church of Christ. Mrs. McMurtrey is survived by her husband of 56 years, James "Harold" McMurtrey; son Jimmy McMurtrey; daughters Sheree Cummings (Greg), Kim Scott, and Heather Danley (Jon); brothers David Beavers (Linda), Waymon Beavers (Cathy), Joe Beavers (Jennifer), and Steve Beavers (Leann); sisters Louise Stovall (David), Helen Fisher (Kenneth), Joyce Owen, and special sister Martha Wallace; special friend Darlene Eaton; (10) grandchildren- Bridgett Carter; Melanie Bailey (Bud); Grace, Kia, Cory, Cody, Ariel, and Jacob Cummings; and Chloe and Callie Danley; and (4) great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin Bud Beavers and Clara Beatrice Harris Beavers. Visitation for Mrs. McMurtrey will be Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Miles Stutts officiating. Burial will be in Atlas Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be L.N. Smith, Jimmy Wallace, and Cody and Cory Cummings.
