Kenneth Ray Phillips, Sr., 69, of Killen, passed on to glory March 30, 2011 at ECM Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be Friday, April 1 at 2:00pm with visitation at 1:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. Burial will be at Bluewater Cemetery, Mitchelltown, AL with Pastor Ron Craig officiating. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Henry Leo and Emma Ray Phillips. He is survived by his dedicated wife Shirley; beloved dog Jody, and son Kenneth Jr. and special stepdaughter Lisa and her husband Stephen; 3 estranged children, Beth, Cindy, and Keith Phillips; 2 estranged stepdaughters Sabrina and Amanda; 2 estranged stepsons Jonathan and Waylon; several grandchildren and 1 special step-grandchild Autumn L. Price. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Byrd, Rodney Byrd, David Ray, Alan Bryant, Pedro Mantinez, and Leonard Nix. Many thank to his employer Byrd's Body Shop and his co-workers of 25 years where he left a legacy of teaching so many others his occupation. Kenneth was well known and loved by all the people in the Automotive Industry in Northwest Alabama. Thank you also to the ECM Palliative Care Unit, Florence Blood and Cancer Center, Dr. Ed Moore, Dr. Felix Morris, Dr. Robert Webb and the entire staff for all their care and kindness. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
