Rev. William E. Cagle, Jr., of Florence, AL, was born April 22, 1929 to the late William E. Cagle, Sr. and Ethel Sharp Cagle. Mr. Cagle departed this life and entered the gates of heaven on June 10, 2014. Mr. Cagle was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Nellie Cagle; two daughters, Teresa Hayes and Diane Holden; four sisters Francis, Fayna, Beactrice and Evelyn; one brother Lloyd Cagle; and a daughter-in-law Rhonda Young. Mr. Cagle is survived by two sons Harold Ray and David L. Cagle; three daughters, Melissa Cagle, Denise Rhodes, and Delora Parrish; fifteen grandchildren, Christy, Brad (Chasity), Jessica (Marty), Jeremy (Emily), Heather, Jennifer (Mike), Jamie, Ladonna, Jason (Mel), Kirk, Craig (Soshi), Blair, Michael (Karla), Danielle (Corey), and Catherine Hill. Mr. Cagle has 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Cagle was a Navy Veteran having served a brief time at Pearl Harbor. He then came home and trained as a machine welder and retired from TVA after 32 years of service thru Shop #2. Mr. Cagle devoted his life to Christ in 1961 and began preaching, pastoring, singing, and teaching the Word of God wherever God lead him. He loved to tell people of what Jesus had done for him. His prayer was always ended with "Save the Lost". Amen. Mr. Cagle enjoyed Alabama Football and Braves Baseball and Newbern's Restaurant was his favorite catfish fix ! Most of all Mr. Cagle loved his family and card for each and every one of them and prayed for all daily. Visitation will be Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday June 13 at 12:00 P.M. Noon with Bro. Roger Reed officiating along with Pastor Bill Davis and Charlie Curtis. Pallbearers will be Michael Parrish, Jamie Hayes, Marty Ledlow, Brad Hinton, Jeremy Holden, and Corey Ferrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Cagle's great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Railroad Cemetery. The family would like to especially thank Hospice of the Shoals staff (Deb McCoy RN), Eldercare staff, Alabamacares, and also Vanessa Keenum. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
