James Lewis Hill, 81, of Florence, passed away March 14, 2011, at his home of an extended illness. He was a carpenter, farmer, and a member of the Stutts Road Church of Christ. Survivors include: Daughters: Linda F. Dean - Greenhill Kathy J. Eckl (Tommy)- Florence Wilma M. Balentine and husband Donnie - Greenhill Sisters: Dorthy Canerday- Greenhill Maudean Crosby- Conneticut Verlie Clemons- Greenhill (10) Grandchildren,( 9) Great-grandchildren, and (1) Great-Greatgrandchild Preceded in death by: Parents: Hugh Mason and Annie Burks Hill Wife: Bobbie Canerday Hill Daughter: Janice Hill Clemons Grandson: Shannon Clemons Son-in-law: Tommy Dean Sister: Ovie Bretherick Infant Sister: Mamie Ethel Hill Brother: Jack Hill Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, from 5:00 - 9:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the chapel Thursday at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Tim Grigsby and Bro. Charles Kretzer officiating. The casket will lie in state before the service. Burial will be in Emmaline Stutts Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Nathan Dean, Renfred Dean, Jamie Eckl, Ron Eckl, Chad Balentine, and Stanley Bradley. The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of the Shoals, Dr. Irons, Dr. Kalliath, our extended family, and our neighbors and friends who were like family during this difficult time.
