Judy Ann Phelps Thompson, passed away December 21, 2013, at Athens Limestone Hospital. She was born March 23, 1943. Survivors include: Daughter: Chris Hamilton & husband Barry - Athens, AL Granddaughter: Bess Hamilton - Athens, AL Brothers: Barton Phelps - Knoxville, TN Frank Phelps - Okatha, OK Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Husband: Buddy Thompson Parents: Issac Clayton & Agnes Pauline Phelps Brothers: Bill, James Martin, Tommy, Stevie, and Gene Phelps After living 30 years in Florence, Mrs. Thompson relocated to Athens in 2003 after the death of her husband. She was a member of West Highland Baptist Church and cherished the friendships she formed from among the congregation. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Enoe, Dr. Noel, Dr. Boyer and all the nurses and staff at Athens Limestone Hospital. Visitation will be Monday, December 23 from 1:00 - 2:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home with the funeral service immediately following in the Chapel with Pastor Jerry Smith of West Highland Baptist Church of Athens officiating.
