Obituary of Barbara Clemmons

Barbara Annette Clemmons, 66, of Florence, AL, passed away November 25, 2013 after a brief illness. She was a native of Lauderdale County and a Methodist. Survivors include: Mother: Betty Ann Thornton of Athens, AL Brother: Gary Clemmons and wife Barbara of Foley, AL Sisters: Donna Rickard of Athens and husband William Terri Hairrell and husband Keith of Athens. (3) Nieces and (3) nephews (10) Great-nieces and nephews Numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and family members Also many adopted family members from V.O.A. Ms. Clemmons was preceded in death by her father, Porter Franklin Clemmons. Barbara was a loving sister who loved her family and those who tended to her every day. She was much loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 27, 2013 from 11-1:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Glen Thornton (uncle) officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. The family would like to send special thanks to the staff of Glenwood Healthcare for their tender care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Volunteers of America. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
