Obituary of Mary McLaurine

Mary Louise Thornton McLaurine, 88, of Killen, AL, passed away September 5, 2013 after an extended illness. Mrs. McLaurine was a member of Greenhill United Methodist Church and a former Avon Representative. She also was a substitute teacher at Rogers School and worked for Reynolds Aluminum. Survivors include: Daughters: Jean Ann Canerday and Jan Reed Davis (William T.) Brother: James A. Thornton Sister: Marguerite Lind Grandchildren: Heather Clark (Rusty) and Jason Reed (Morgan) Great-grandchildren: Bailey Clark and Calen Clark She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas H. and Edna May Richardson Thornton; and by her husband Horace L. McLaurine III. Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 11-2:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Kenney Barfield and Mark E. Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Lind, Tommy Lind, Troy Clemmons, Timmy Clemmons, Rusty Clark, and Kyle Taylor. The family would like to send a special thanks to Hospice of the Shoals, Janice Keeton, Helen Thigpen, and Tina Fritz for their special care shown to Mary during her illness. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
