Obituary of Bernice Hurst

Bernice L. (Beck) Gabel Hurst, 92, Mt. Nebo, TN, passed away August 30, 2013, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home. She was retired Deputy Circuit Court Clerk for Lawrence County and attended Mt. Nebo Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Great Grandchildren: Jackson Phillips and Sarah Grace Phillips
Unborn Great Grandchild: Marshall Finn Michael
Visitation will be Sunday, September 1, from 1:00-3:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home with burial in Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Dean, Stanley Hurst, Lanny Hurst, Tony Sewell, Johnny Lyles, and Andy Lyles.
Maw- Maw married Paw-Paw on August 2, 1947, in Greenhill, AL. They just celebrated their 66th anniversary. After retirement, Maw-Maw enjoyed spending time with her greatest blessings, her children, grand children and great grandchildren. She was a great cook and was known for her fried apple pies and walnut cakes. She was an avid quilter and her quilts won many awards. She enjoyed spending time in the garden and with Paw-Paw.
The family would like to thank caregivers, Shirley Wright, Jan Kelsoe, Dorothy Springer, Kurt Weathers, Haley Kimbrell, Shirley Simbeck, and the staff of Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home.
