Billy Roy Abernathy, 59, of Killen, passed away March 6, 2011 at ECM Hospital in Florence. He was a member of the Church of Christ; a Shop Foreman at TVA Power Service Shop, and a member of the Carpenters Local. Survivors include: Wife: Frances Davis Abernathy Son: Chris Abernathy and wife Frankie Daughter: Bridgett Hildesheim and husband Tommy Step Daughter: Melanie Bogus Brothers: Donnie Abernathy Sonnie Abernathy Sisters: Betty Smith Peggy Peck Grandsons: Lee Franks and Chase Hildesheim Granddaughter: Alyssa Abernathy and Gabby Hildesheim Step Grandchildren: Ashtyn Bogus and Molly Bogus Preceded in death by: Parents: Buddy and Arvella Abernathy First Wife: Cathy Abernathy Visitation will be Monday, March 7, from 6:00-9:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:00pm at the funeral home with burial in Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hovater, Kenny Abernathy, Wayne Holden, Bobby Newton, Tim McDougal, and Miles Willis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wendal Dean, Jackie Thigpen, Jerry Bogus, Johnny Jones, and Marty Rogers. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
