Obituary of Willie Stamps

Willie Carlton Stamps, 78, of Iron City, TN, passed away peacefully at home February 6, 2013, after an extended illness. Mr. Stamps was retired from National Floor Products Company after 31 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and a born again Christian.
Mr. Stamps was preceded in death by his parents George William Stamps and Mattie Mae Rhodes Stamps; one son Carlon Stamps; one grandson Jeremy Atkins; and four brothers Arland Stamps, Raymond Stamps, Laymond Stamps, and Clayburn Stamps.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Betty Swinea Stamps; two sons- Gaylon Stamps and Darryl Stamps, both of Iron City; two daughters- Jennifer Atkins (Larry) of Leesburg, GA and Kimberly Wallace (Garry) of Greenhill, AL; eight grandchildren- Christopher Atkins of Leesburg, GA, Joel Atkins (Dana) of Leesburg, GA, Carlton Dewayne Stamps, Andrew Stamps, and Cody Stamps-all of Cypress, TX; Lucas Stamps of Iron City; Anissa Stamps of Greenhill; Gabbreell Lankford of Iron City; four step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren; three sisters- Margaret Angel of Florence, Bertie Johnson of Five Points, TN, and Barbara Kinderman of Iron City; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 5-7:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Stacey Holt and Tim Hanback officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaac Daniel and Gabbreell Lankford.
