Elbert Eugene Newton, 78, of Lexington, passed away November 27, 2012 at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville. He was of the Christian faith, a Mason, retired from Reynolds, and a U. S. Army Veteran. Survivors include: Brother: David Newton and wife Sandra Sister: Barbara Green and husband Terry Several nieces and nephews Preceded in death by: Parents: Asa and Annie Bell Newton Brother: James D. Newton Brother-in-law: Elvis Hunt Niece: Jo Ann Hunt Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 30, from 12:00-2:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Bro. Mike Nash, Bro. Tommy James, Bro. Henry Melton, and Bro. Gene Richey officiating. Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery (Lexington) with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Pallbearers will be Keith Hunt, Tony Newton, David Newton, Jr., Jay Parker, Gene Sanderson, and Jason Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Ritter, Patrick Hunt, Jake Harding, Jake Newton, Cody Fowler, Chris Hunt, Noah Ward, Eric Kelly, and Josh Kramer.
