Obituary of Ruby Mitchell

Ruby E. Taylor Mitchell of Lexington, AL, was born November 15, 1918. She passed away October 24, 2012, surrounded by family and friends. She was blessed with a long life. Mrs. Mitchell was married 73 years to Thomas "Fisher" Mitchell. She grew up in Liberty Grove, TN and was the oldest daughter of 10 children. She loved and supported her 3 children, worked hard as a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, canning, yard work, and especially cooking. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas "Fisher" Mitchell; mother Bertha Comer Taylor; father Willie Taylor; brothers Lester Taylor, Verda D. Taylor, Carlos Taylor, and Gene Taylor; sisters Lola Mae Lasseter and Selma Gisriel; and grandson Bradley Mitchell.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by:
Children: Mary Ann Balch (Lelon); Judy McClure (Charles); and Ronnie Mitchell (Judy)
Grandchildren: Cynthia Thompson (Charlie), Tina Greer (Wade), Mickey McClure (Jo Lynn), Brit McClure (Jena), Darian Mitchell (Shawn), and Kevin Mitchell (Jennifer)
(16) Great-grandchildren and (1) Great-great-grandchild
The family would like to especially thank caregivers Ginny McGee, Denise Harrison, Hospice of Tennessee Valley, and Dr. Robert Mann.
The visitation will be Friday, October 26, 2012 from 12-2:00 P.M. at Lexington United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Sam Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Pettus Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mickey McClure, Brit McClure, Darian Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell, Blake McClure, Brandon McClure, John Taylor Greer, Tristian Wilson, and Jeremy Thompson.
