Obituary of Norma Holden Carpenter

Norma Holden Carpenter, of Florence, Ala., passed away at North Alabama Medical Center on November 17, 2023, after a brief illness.
She was a wonderful mother, wife, Mimi, and “Nornie” to all of us. She loved God and her family more than anything else in this world.
She was a graduate of Mars Hill Bible School and a member of the Church of Christ. She retired from TVA but also worked in various career fields over the course of her life including childcare, travel, cosmetology, and the funeral industry.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Ray L. Carpenter; her parents, Harlon and Elliott Canerday Holden; and a step-son, Ray Carpenter, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Baldwin, Ooltewah, Tenn.; step-daughter, Natalie Frazier, and husband Brett, Huntsville; brother, Lexie Holden, and wife Sheila, Greenhill; and grandchildren, Harlon Baldwin, Elliott Baldwin, Zane Frazier, and Quin Frazier.
Pallbearers will include Harlon Baldwin, Elliott Baldwin, Zane Frazier, Quin Frazier, Barry Holden, Brady Holden, Conner Holden, and Larry Skipworth.
Honorary pallbearers will be Evan Holden, Joe Frank Fowler, and Brian Fowler.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 PM at Greenhill Funeral Home with a service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Dr. Chad Holden, Tim Grigsby, and Miles Stutts will officiate.
Burial will take place at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the North Alabama Christian Children’s Home.
The family would also like to thank the critical care staff at NAMC for their loving care for our Mimi.
