Offering my deepest condolences at this time. May you find comfort in knowing that your dear loved one is resting now...merely sleeping and that soon Rev. 21:1-4 and Psalms 37:29 will soon be a reality....that soon we'll be able to see our loved ones again in a paradise earth no longer plagued with death, tears or pain. "The former things will have passed away."

I was sorry to hear of David's passing. I became acquainted with David and Judy in the Shoals Master Gardeners class of 1995. I, along with many others, appreciated his sense of humor (and stories), pleasant personality and gardening knowledge. My heartfelt sympathy to you all.

Sorry to hear about David. I enjoyed his visits at the bank (The First National Bank of Florence/Suntrust). Of coarse his nickname was "The Elevator Man". He was a great gentlemen and I know he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Mr. David was always so kind to me as a child growing up across the street from his family. He got me out of run away car's and out of tree's. He killed snakes and gave me sweet smiles. My condolences to his family and all who loved him.I will always think of him as the big, strong man who seemed to always be there for the little girl in his circle.

It takes a village to raise a child. Mr. Coker was my mentor. I talk about him frequently and remember him every time I use that wrench I got from his garage sale (I have about two tons of snap-on tools and still like to use that one). My favorite story that I have repeated many times is when his picture was in the paper for catching that snapping turtle at the county lake. He said it broke his oar with its beak. It was the meanist creature I have ever seen alive, hissing, lunging, and snapping. Mr. Coker could fix anything. One time when his union was on strike he bought this old rusty 1940's Ford truck. It didn't run at first and he used his arc welder on the spark plugs to make it fire. It made a loud explosion when it did. He welded the forks of my sisters bike to mine so I could have a chopper. After I moved up here I attached a snow ski and the extended forks worked to make it a bicycle for snow. I still have those forks. I am deeply saddened even though I haven't seen him in 39 years. I will always remember him to be a great man.
