Obituary of William "Sonny" Kelley

William James (Sonny) Kelley, age 80, passed from this life at home on April 24, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd C. and Vera Phillips Kelley, wife Bobbie Nell, son Jeffery Mark, and son in law Patrick Keeton. He is survived by his beloved daughter Bengie Keeton and granddaughter Kelley Taft. Sonny worked very hard in his career. He began delivering milk at a very young age and eventually worked his way to managing both the Tuscumbia and Huntsville Foremost Dairy Distributors until his retirement at age 44. He and his wife owned and operated various businesses in the Shoals area including Quad Cities Heating and Air in Tuscumbia for 20 years. He was inducted into the Home Builders Hall of Fame in 2010 for his business career and service as a state level Home Builders' officer. He was a Mason and Shriner for over 50 years. His enjoyment in life was operating his cattle farm in Greenhill. His most valued accomplishment was receiving Jesus Christ as his personal savior at age 75. Visitation will be 11-1 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Greenhill Funeral Home with the funeral at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ronnie Phillips, Johnny Odell, Don Burleson, Joey Burleson, Bartley Taft. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to the Patrick Keeton Scholarship Fund at Waterloo High School at P.O. Box 612 Tuscumbia, Al 35674. Greenhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
