Josephine was a wonderful special person who touched the lives of many in her beloved community, church, and at El Reposo where she visited residents on many a Sunday afternoon. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. I loved her as many did. My deepest regret, Peggy McCrory White

I agree w/ Mr. and Mrs. Hill: Aunt Jo was always the first Christmas card we received, the day after Thanksgiving! Just today, I received my birthday card from her (8 days early, of course). She had mailed it on April 16th, the day before she unexpectedly died. It made me cry like a baby. In my 30 years of friendship with Aunt Jo, I have never known a human being to be so accepting, so uncritical and so non-judgmental of others. Like to so many others, she was a mother to me. She accepted me for who I am, and never judged me. She let me know that it was okay to be myself; I have carried that with me through my life. She was born in the same house, the same bed, where she lived all of her 89 years. I only wish she had died peacefully there. I will miss my Aunt Jo.

I was so sorry to hear of Josephine's accident and death. She was such an icon in St. Joe. She was always laughing and smiling and truly had a great talent with flowers. She always kept back an arrangement every Mother's Day for my dad because she knew he would be coming in on Saturday to pick up something. My deepest condolences.

JOSEPHINE WAS A VERY SPECIAL WOMAN AND DEFINITELY ONE OF A KIND. SHE WAS A TRUE FRIEND TO OUR FAMILY, AND SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. SHE EPITOMIZED THE TERM 'A GOOD WOMAN'. THE LAST WORDS SHE SAID TO ME WERE, 'IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO FOR YOU OR IF YOUR MOTHER NEEDS ANYTHING, LET ME KNOW.' AND I WILL MISS HER.

Mrs. Josephine was a card sender. She always remembered Johnnie's birthday and he could expect a card in the mail. At Christmas, her's was the first card we received. She was a wonderful, kind and loving lady. I know her community and family will miss her. She is with the angels now. God's peace to her family.
