One is my best childhood memories with the Quillen family was going to Opryland! I was about 8 and Laura was about 10 and Michael was a wee little guy about 5. Michael and I were always the rambunctious ones while Laura was our sense of reason. I remember running ahead and going through the exit gate to get on a ride and the attendant coming over to instruct me to get off and go through the entrance. I’m sure I embarrassed my Aunt Snookie on many occasions but I never knew it. The Quillen family was a true example of a Christian home. They love people unconditionally! I spent some weeks at the Quillen home after my parents were divorced. They always welcomed me and treated me like their own. The love I received from Aunt Snookie, Uncle Leon, and sweet Laura helped shape me into the Christian woman I am today. Laura, I love you so much! I hope you and Uncle Leon look down today from Heaven and are pleased with the memorial we will have for you. You were God’s special gift to us! We all are so much better by knowing you and by being loved by you.
