Obituary of Eugene Mitchell Maness, Jr.

Eugene Mitchell “Gene” Maness, Jr., 71, of Greenhill, AL. passed away Monday, January 18, 2021. Gene was preceded in death by his parents “Sparky” Maness and “Sue” Maness. He is survived by his wife Diane Maness, daughter Stephanie Maness Killen (Chad), grandsons Austin Killen and Brock Killen, and sisters-in-law Lisa Hayes and Susan Stutts. Gene’s siblings are Charles Maness (Carolyn), Kenny Maness, Gayle Maness, and Sherry Maness Springer (David). Gene also had several nephews and nieces, and his fur baby, Bella, whom he loved dearly. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 20th at 11:00 A.M. at Shiloh Church of Christ Cemetery, CR 344, Florence, AL. with Bro. Tim Grigsby officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Gene was the most tender hearted, kind, and loving person to all of us who knew and loved him. He stayed in touch with loved ones, never forgetting any of our birthdays. Gene was a property appraiser, and former agent who was always relied upon with friendly, helpful advice in his field of expertise. We will miss him so much, and be glad to see him again, when all things will be wonderful. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
