I got to meet Travis in 1988 when interviewing builders to double my home size. When interviewing each one, I would ask for something that was against code. If the builder agreed to it quickly or gave in after I pressed them to do it my way, then I would write them off. After 4 builders I met Travis Smith. He would not agree to do what I wanted that was against code (remember, this was my method to flush out a bad contractor, by suggesting something ridiculous). He finally said that he would just walk away rather than do something that he knew was wrong and got up to politely leave. I also stood up, smiled and shook his hand and told him that he had proven to me that he was a man with values and integrity and that he had the job! That began a life long friendship that extended to Jay and I today. I am proud to have known Travis Smith and had him as a friend! I am praying for you all during this time. I love you all!
