Please share a memory of Willie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Willie Tee Clemmons Cody, 103, of Killen, passed away October 9, at her home, surrounded by family. She was a native of Lauderdale County and of the Church of Christ faith. She was born February 24, 1917. She came from a big family and was one of eleven and had ten kids herself. She attended Greenhill School until the 8th grade when she stopped to help her family on the farm. Willie Tee was a homemaker. She was married to Willie Patton “Bill” Cody for 54 years. They had 10 children. Willie Tee was a hard worker in the field and farm. She was determined to teach her kids to be hard workers. She was strong willed person; she picked cotton and had a baby that night. In Willie Tees’s lifetime, she saw many changes from the Great Depression, riding in horse and wagon, to the invention of cars. Willie Tee loved to go to Gospel singings. She loved the Lord. Her favorite thing to tell people was “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. She believed in always working hard, even when she was bed ridden, she wanted to get up because there were things that needed to be done. Willie Tee loved to recite Psalm 23 “The Lord is my Shepherd”. She had a love of flowers, especially a good smelling rose.
