Obituary of Solly Jr. Butler
Solly Jr. Butler, 75, of Killen, AL, passed away at his home on April 16, 2019, after an extended illness. He was a long-haul over-the-road truck driver for 25 years and also a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents Reeder Butler and Mary Lou Hendrix Butler; brother Charlie Ray Butler; sister Reeder Mae Butler; and special friend Lois Morris.
He is survived by his longtime caregivers Gary and Judy Rogers, whom he loved dearly and whom loved him as family.
His extended family included Jamie White, Kim Rogers Sutton family, Mike Price & Brandi Rogers Graves family, Chad and Melanie Rogers family, and Charles Kaarlie (Doodlebug). He is also survived by sisters Joyce Ann Burney and Helen Butler and brothers Donald Butler and Jerry Butler.
Judy and Gary would love to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for all their kindness and compassion as well as Tammy Cabler (caregiver).
Jr. was of the Methodist faith.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 20th at 1:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The visitation will be prior to that from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Burial will be at Emmaline Stutts Cemetery with full military honors.
