Obituary of Betty Ann Thornton

Betty Ann Thornton, 88, of Athens, AL, passed away January 29, 2019, at Limestone Health Facility in Athens.  She was a former hairdresser and a nurse’s assistant.  She was a Methodist.

Daughters:      Donna C. Rickard and husband William of Athens, AL

                        Terri C. Hairrell and husband Keith of Rogersville, AL

Brothers:         John M. (Johnny) Thornton, Jr

                        Thomas (Glen) Thornton

Sisters:             Elna (Allene) Gooch

                        Myra (Faye) Gist

                        Nina (Renee) Thornton

Grandchildren:  Eric Clemmons, Chad Clemmons, Aubrey White, Justin Hairrell, Amanda Staggs, and Ansley Baccus.

Visitation will be Friday, February 1, from 2:00-3:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Glen Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Gooch, Eric Clemmons, Chad Clemmons, Justin Hairrell, Justin White, and Jon Tyler Baccus. Honorary pallbearers will be Will White, Andrew Staggs, Mason Hairrell, and Aaron Staggs.

The family would like to acknowledge the loving care given by the nurses and staff of Limestone Health Facility.
