Obituary of Arthur Monceret

Arthur Monceret, 87, of Killen, AL, passed away December 9, 2011 after a brief illness. He was a retired electrician for Union Carbide and TVA and a member of the Greenhill United Methodist Church for 64 years. He was a Master Mason and a 50-year member of Greenhill Lodge #402 of York and Scottish Rite and also a member of Cahaba Shrine Temple. Survivors include: His wife of 69 years, Millie Jo Liles Monceret Sons: Arthur Thomas Monceret and Timothy A. Monceret Daughters: Pat Albright (Ron) and Kathy Koonce (Doug) Brother: Felix Monceret (Jerry) Sister: Majorie Crosswhite (David) (9) Grandchildren and (8) Great-grandchildren Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Bessie Lovelace Monceret; his brother Ernest Monceret; sisters Lorene Gibbs and June Weaver; and grandchildren Shanna Black and Tyler Koonce. Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel Monday at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Bill Smith and Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. The casket will lie in state from 9:30-10:30 A.M. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shane Albright, Tres Monceret, Gatlin Hill, Larry Wayne Black, Bret Monceret, and Nick Jones. The family wishes to extend praise and gratitude to the staff at El Reposo Nursing Facility. "Grandaddy" loved everyone there ! In lieu of flowers, the family request donation be made to the Greenhill United Methodist Church Building Fund- 15050 CR 47, Killen, AL 35645. Greenhill Funeral Home directing.
