Being a production worker was her secondary job. Her first and foremost job was caring for and raising children. It didn't matter who they belonged to or how they showed up on her doorstep. Every single one of them was loved and fed and taught right from wrong. And, yes, even disciplined them when it was necessary. From the time she was a child herself, she took care of "HER" kids. I know this to be true, because I was one of her kids. She was whatever I needed her to be. First a substitute mom, later a big sister, and then forever -- my best friend.
