Obituary of Gentry "Jim" Grooms

~~Gentry “Jim” Grooms, 87, of St. Joseph, passed away November 13, 2017, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia.  He was a Methodist and an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War era.  He was retired as a Woodshop Foreman from Loretto Casket Company and Thacker Casket Company. 
 
 Survivors include: 
  Wife:    Jean Grooms
  Daughters:  Pam Lumpkins (Jerry)
    Martha Ricketts
  Brother:  Hollis Grooms
  Sisters:  Reba Coats, Jane LaRoche & Paulette Grooms
  Grandchildren: Amy Luffman (Barry)
    Beth Ellis (Stephen)
  Great Grandchildren: Kelby & Korey Luffman
     Ralee & Madison Ellis

 Preceded in death by: 
  Parents:   Frank & Annebelle Walters Grooms
  Brother: Joe Grooms
  Sisters:   Lois Weaver & Arvenia Grooms

 Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 5:00-8:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Thursday at 1:00pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

 Pallbearers will be:  George Troop, John Troop, Gerald Troop, Lee Haygood, Coyce Hallmark, Tim Springer & Donnie Ward.

 Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
