Helen Marie Danley Hines, 79, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011, with her family by her side at her home in Greenhill, Alabama, after an extended illness. Mrs. Hines was born on September 17, 1932, in Lauderdale County, Alabama to Preston and Flora Danley. She was raised in Greenhill and lived there most of her life. She attended Rogers School until she married her husband, Kenneth Hines, on October 6, 1950. Mr. and Mrs. Hines were married in a small ceremony in Iuka, Mississippi. They just recently celebrated 61 years of a loving marriage. Mrs. Hines attended Milners Chapel UMC for 50 years where she was an active member and Sunday School teacher, affectionately known as "Ms. Helen". She was a wonderful seamstress and many people enjoyed her good food that she often made for others. She was the loving mother of 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mrs. Hines is survived by her husband, William Kenneth Hines, and her four children, Dyann Goins and husband Ronnie, Linda Young and husband Donny, Donnie Hines and wife Paige, Teresa Hogan and husband Steve. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Tracy Goins Hughes and husband Jimmy, Danny Hines and wife Cynthia, Kyle Hogan and fiancée Christina, Dustin Young, Ashley Hogan, Josh Hines and wife Alyssa. Mrs. Hines is survived by 5 great grandchildren, Whitney, Jessica, Kelsey, Halie and Madison. She is also survived by 3 brothers, Almon Danley of Niles, Michigan, Walter Danley of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Harold Danley of Greenhill, Alabama and one sister, Bertha Binecki of Winemac, Indiana. Mrs. Hines was preceded in death by her parents, Preston Danley and Flora Gooch Danley, two brothers, Earl Danley and Malcolm Danley, and one sister, Nadine Brown. Services for Mrs. Hines will be Saturday, October 29th, 2011, at 11 AM at Greenhill Funeral Home and burial at Emmaline Stutts Cemetery following with Brother Rickey Green and Brother William "Bill" Smith officiating. Visitation will be Friday, October 28th, 2011, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Greenhill Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hughes, Danny Hines, Kyle Hogan, Dustin Young, Josh Hines and Charles Kennedy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Milners Chapel UMC Men's Breakfast Club. Any donations in Mrs. Hines memory can be made to Milners Chapel UMC. Mrs. Hines was lovingly cared for by her family and Janet Kelsoe at her home for the last year of her life. She leaves behind her a wonderful legacy of faithfulness to God and family, kindness to those around her, and most of all, love to those who knew her. Greenhill Funeral Home directing.
