Obituary of Grace McMurtrey

~~Lula Grace Thigpen McMurtrey, 89, of Killen, AL, passed away May 17, 2017 at El Reposo Nursing Home. Mrs. McMurtrey was a mother and housewife and a member of North Carolina Church of Christ.

 Mrs. McMurtrey is survived by:

   Randy (Patricia) McMurtrey

  Daughter: Deborah (Max) Waddell

  Grandchildren:  Joey (Katrina) McMurtrey
    Tracey (Daniel) Dunn
    Jason Waddell
    Andrew McMurtrey
    Olivia McMurtrey

  Great-grandchildren:      D.J. Dunn
     Jasper Dunn
     Kaley McMurtrey
     Karver McMurtrey
     Evie Grace Dunn

 She was preceded in death by:

  Husband: Grady McMurtrey
  Parents: Gifford Riley Thigpen and Iris Blanch White Thigpen
  Brothers: Baylus Thigpen & Leo Thigpen
  Sisters: Louis Davis & infants Imogene and Cleo Thigpen

 Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2017 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday in the funeral Home chapel at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Don Williams officiating. Burial will be in North Carolina Cemetery.

 The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Steve Wampler and all of the wonderful care takers at El Reposo Nursing Home.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
