Obituary of Vernell Johnson

Lula Vernell Bosheers Simbeck Johnson, resident of Loretto, TN, died on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the age of 82. Vernell was born August 5th, 1934 to Wilburn & Gracie Wilson Bosheers. She was united in marriage to Royce Simbeck on January 30th, 1952. She and Royce had 4 children. Her 2nd marriage was to Lonnie Johnson and together they had 1 child and 4 step-children. She is survived by her children Gary (Jane) Simbeck, Shirley Simbeck, Mike (Charity) Simbeck, Tina (Bob) Rigling, and Sonya Johnson; 2 brothers Tom (Carolyn) Bosheers & Randy (Vicki) Bosheers; sister Judy (Joe) White, and 4 sisters-in-law Sadie Bosheers, Jo Ann Bosheers, Anna Laura (Joe) Jackson, and Pie Pardin. The surviving grandchildren are Wayne (Wendy) Simbeck, David (Joey) Simbeck, Rone (Nola) Simbeck, Joy (Jason) Clifton, Alexander Simbeck, Bronwyn (Bart) Wright, Shannon (Calvin) Robbins, Mahalie (Eric) Andrews, John Michael Simbeck, Adam (Stephanie) Rigling, Michelle (Matt) Rigling, and Edee Johnson. She has 14 Great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including special nieces & nephews Anissa (Mark) Mashburn, Wade (Shelia) Pettus, and Jo Ann Hannah and special friends Dorothy Simbeck, Eloise Cottles, Marie Urban, and Sondra Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Johnson, her son Steve Simbeck, her parents Wilburn & Gracie Bosheers, her brothers Ed Bosheers, Buck Bosheers and his wife Betty, and Dee Bosheers; and her sister Sandra Bosheers. Funeral services will be held at Greenhill Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-4:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 with the funeral following at 4:00 P.M. Burial will be in Restview Cemetery in Loretto. Pallbearers will be Adam Rigling, Wayne Simbeck, David Simbeck, Rone Simbeck, Alexander Simbeck, Jacob Clifton, Wade Pettus, and Mark Mashburn.
