Jewel Marie Whitis, 80, of Loretto, passed away December 10, 2010 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and member of the Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include: Sons: Paul Edward Whitis - Loretto, TN Gary Dwain Whitis - Elkmont, AL Daughters: Debra Whitis - Loretto, TN Darlene Hallmark - Loretto, TN Lena Novem - Five Points, TN Mother: Maudie Mae East - Lexington, AL Brothers: C. J. East, Jr. - Loretto, TN Dwain East - Columbus, IN Danny East - Lexington, AL Kenneth East - Lexington, AL Sisters: Jean McElroy - Columbus, IN Joyce Wilson - Athens, AL Betty Byrd - Florence, AL Nora B. Pennington - Edinburg, IN Faye East - Lexington, AL (8) Grandchildren and (9) Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by: Husband: Paul S. Whitis Father: Chesley East Brother: Lavaughn East Sister: Violet Cochran Great Grandson: Michael Oller Visitation will be Saturday, December 11, from 11:00-1:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Joel Wallace officiating. There will be a graveside service at 1:00pm Wednesday, December 15 at Garland-Brook Cemetery in Columbus, IN. Pallbearers will be Roy Chavez, Scottie DeWitt, Adam DeWitt, Josh Novem, Mike McElroy, Jeff McElroy, and Randy White. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
