Obituary of Dwain Hamner

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, PawPaw and friend, Dwain Hamner, who passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 70. He was deeply loved by his family and will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering devotion to those he loved, and his willingness to always be there for anyone who needed him. His life was filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories that those who knew and loved him will carry with them forever. Dwain is preceded in death by his father, Hunter Hamner, mother, Gladys Hamner, and brothers, Lance and Max Hamner. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Hamner, his daughters, Dana Hamner(JW), Dawn Hamner, Rachel Sims(Marlon) and his son, Ryan Hamner(Ragan). His grandchildren, Braylon Sims, Emmeline Hamner, Justin Maxwell, Addisyn Maxwell, Riyah Sims and Greyson Hamner. Also by his sister, Susan Hamner Dale(Don) and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00pm, at Atlas Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 4:00, at the church, with Bro. Miles Stutts officiating. Burial will be at Atlas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jason Danley, Ronald Ethridge, Ricky Archer, Ryan Hamner, Marlon Sims, & JW Maxwell. The family would like to give a special thank you to North Alabama Hospice and Atlas Church.
